Key Info for Office Optional
Hard to believe, but Office Optional is just a few days away. We're really looking forward to seeing you on Tues, April 22, and, to make sure you get the most out of the event, we've put together this email containing all of the key info you'll need. We’ve found that attendees who read our preview message have a better time at our conferences, so we encourage you to skim through this email today.* Timing. The conference runs from 9a - 6p and will be followed by a reception generously sponsored by Bloomberg Beta. Registration and breakfast open at 8a. To see an overview of the program, head over to this page on our website.* Free stuff. The first 100 people to arrive will receive copies of Bob Sutton and Huggy Rao’s new book, “Scaling Up Excellence: Getting to More Without Settling for Less.”* Location. The event is at the Mission Bay Conference Center, 1675 Owens Street, San Francisco, CA 94143. You can park at the adjoining garage for $30. Unfortunately, we can't validate parking. If you take a cab, services like Flywheel, Sidecar and UberX are worth considering, as hailing a cab in San Francisco works, like, 7% of the time. You can find public transportation information here.* Connect with other attendees before the event. We encourage you to join our event networking community, powered by a Bizzabo app, to connect with other Office Optional participants. You’ll be able to browse the agenda, mark your favorite sessions, send messages to attendees, see offers from sponsors, and follow event tweets. To download the app, follow this link. Or, in your smartphone’s app store, download "Bizzabo" > search for "Office Optional" > click "Join."* Connect with other attendees at the event. To make sure you have time to check your email and meet with other attendees, we'll give you long breaks and a substantial lunch period. But we know from personal experience that chatting with strangers can be awkward. So we ask that you come with this topic in mind to kick off discussions with fellow attendees: What’s your favorite piece of advice for working on a distributed team? It can be a tool, a process, a routine, anything at all.* Help us create a great learning environment. Please review our code of conduct. You’re an important link in upholding it!* Hashtag. #OfficeOptional. Find us on Twitter @OfficeOptional; we’ll make announcements throughout the day from our account, and we’ll RT you, too.* Free space. If the Lean Startup Productions team has a "home base" we would say it's WeWork SoMa in San Francisco. Two of our team members cowork there on a regular basis and sometimes pop into WeWork NYC. The Lean Startup Productions team and WeWork invite you for a tour of the space and the opportunity to cowork for free on Monday April 21 and/or Wednesday April 23. We have a limited number of slots, so register now: Monday registration is here; Wednesday registration is here.See you soon! _________________________________________________________________Featured Sponsor
