Two Important Notes about The Lean Startup Conference

Conference Information You Need Today

The Lean Startup Conference is just a month away, and we’ve got a couple of short updates.  First, we’re excited to announce that we had so many good speaking candidates, we’ve added an extra round of presentations—Ignite: Lean Startup, an evening of talks with a twist. Each brave presenter gets five minutes and 20 slides, which advance automatically every 15 seconds. Fast-paced, thought-provoking and social, this Ignite features presentations from in-the-trenches entrepreneurs ready to share their lessons learned. Also: booze.  Ignite: Lean Startup will be held Sunday, December 2 at 8pm at the InterContinental Hotel in SF. If you are a conference attendee, tickets are free, but they’re very limited, and you must register in advance to reserve a seat. We ask that you register soon but do so only if you truly think you’ll attend. (Platinum Pass holders only do not need to register, as we will hold a place for you automatically.)  Our second note today is simple: our hotel rooms at the InterContinental are sold out, but we’ve got another block of discounted rooms at the Mark Hopkins, a great hotel about 10 blocks away. There are a number of other events in San Francisco the week of our conference, and hotel rooms are going fast, so we recommend booking now at the Mark Hopkins. Reservations made through our room block include complimentary internet access in hotel rooms.  Although the Mark Hopkins is a short walk to the InterContinental and there’s a cable car that runs from the Mark Hopkins’ front door, we want to make this as easy as possible for you. So we will offer a free shuttle from the Mark Hopkins to the InterContinental on Monday, December 3 at 8:00am and 8:30am.  In the coming weeks, we’ll announce the final speaker roster and schedule for the conference, along with startup site visit stops and other details.  We look forward to seeing you soon,  Eric Ries & Sarah Milstein, conference co-hosts
