Empire State of Mind
Let’s hear it for New York

Incorruptible: Why Good Companies Go Bad…
and How Great Companies Stay Great
Available for pre-order at incorruptible.co
This week I’m in NYC doing book promotion, and it’s been incredible so far, with a range of events and interviews – exactly the kind of variety that New York does so well.
Every stop so far (and there are more to come!) has been warm, welcoming, and filled with people engaging with the ideas in Incorruptible thoughtfully and hopefully. I couldn’t ask for more. My thanks to the organizers, moderators, and interviewers who are making these events run so smoothly and taking such good care of me and everyone else.
Highlights so far
Things kicked off Wednesday bright and early at ProductCon NYC. 1,500 product leaders were there in person and thousands more joined us online at ProductCon NYC. The energy in this room of builders was off the charts. I’d expect nothing less from people who signed up to hear the keynote I titled “To build is a radical act.”
Afterwards, hundreds of people lined up for me to sign copies of Incorruptible. Most of them also told me how The Lean Startup changed their work or their life. Years later that still stops me cold.
Incorruptible Salon
Next, my publisher Madeline McIntosh and the Authors Equity team hosted an intimate gathering of journalists, authors, and business leaders. New York Times reporter and bestselling author David Gelles and I talked about Incorruptible in a living room at the iconic Dakota apartment building, in front of an audience seated on couches, munching on snacks and keeping the hot weather at bay with cool drinks.
Yesterday, Greg Behrman, Founder and CEO of NationSwell, hosted a Leadership Lunch with a group of senior leaders across business, finance, venture capital, philanthropy, and journalism for an open conversation. As we ate, people connected all around the table over the ideas in Incorruptible and ways to apply them across sectors.
I also recorded in-person sessions with Big Think and Jessi Hempel of Hello Monday. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on the release dates for those.
After catching my breath, I’m in the room below this morning, and it will soon be full of NYC startup entrepreneurs and investors, hosted by Andy Walsh of Startups Decoded. Can’t wait to keep the conversation going.
A FEW DAYS LEFT
There’s still time to pre-order before May 26th midnight PT to get special bonuses.
These bonuses are my way of saying thank you for being an early supporter. I hope they’ll enrich your experience of the book.
Once you’ve ordered from your favorite book retailer anywhere in the world, claim your free bonuses here or simply reply to this email with your receipt. Hardcover, e-book, audio version, and paperback – all formats qualify!
Live Author Q&A
This June 10th virtual event in June is only for folks who have registered for the preorder.
Next week, we’ll send out the invitation to RSVP. Even if you can’t attend, you can submit questions for me ahead of time. Of course, we’ll share the replay back with you.
Incorruptible Community
The blueprint and ideas in this book are tools for putting into practice. The Incorruptible Community is a place to pool experiences and share insights. It’s a network of people committed to building organizations that last, including founders, executives, investors, employees, and customers. When you preorder, you’ll have the opportunity to be a founding member.
Secret Chapter
After the book is released, you’ll receive an email with the secret chapter. That’s all I’m at liberty to say at this time…
Insider Access to Research
In the years I spent working on the book, I amassed a huge archive of data, papers, articles, books, and other materials. I drew on a lot of it while writing, but many of my sources remained not just unquoted but uncited due to space constraints.
This preorder bonus is a research email series that pulls from that archive, with a deep dive into a topic covered in the book on each day. You’ll get an overview of the subject at hand along with linked sources and a set of documents you can get immersed in.
Invites to Events
Finally, there are still invite-only events or ones with a fee. I’ve already given away free tickets to people who preordered, and I have more to grant during the book tour.
The sooner you let us know you preordered, the more opportunities you’ll have for tickets. See the line up below.
Thanks,
Eric
